Tired of trying to communicate with the Chinglish-speaking taxi drivers? Just show them the Taxi Card and get there! Girlfriend wants to check out D&G, but youre more interested in the MacBooks at the DG Lifestyle Store? Browse Hong Kongs stores on your iPhone, anywhere, so youll know theyre both at ifc mall. Or if youre lost, tap the address to automatically type the Chinese address into google maps.

With over 3000 addresses and phone numbers for restaurants, nightlife, shopping, hotels, and more, this searchable directory of Hong Kongs most popular addresses makes it easy to get anywhere in the city. Sort the locations by distance, and SMS or email the cards to friends with CardShare.

And don’t worry; it doesn’t need an internet connection, so you won’t get dinged with high data fees. (Please note that mapping and internet browsing of reviews require an internet connection and will use data). Well be providing constant updates, since the app is offline and Hong Kong changes so quickly, so stay tuned, add your hotel to the favorites, and enjoy Hong Kong!

Pros and cons of Hong Kong Taxi Guide app for iPhone and iPad

Hong Kong Taxi Guide app good for

i love the taxi guide apps. unfortunately the "hong kong" version has a bug, as you cant save favorites. still waiting for a update.
Pretty cool application for recent arrivals to HK - expats and tourists alike. It would be much better if the icon didnt show up as Beijing with Hong Kong datapoints. Particularly since I just shelled out $5 US. Software is a little dated though.Missing key content in my books. Might want to include HK Santorium Hospital in Happy Valley - it is key private hospital with English spoken. It is missing key shopping centres like Landmark, Times Square in Causeway Bay and Elements in Kowloon East along with iSquare and K11 - the two newest shopping centres in TST. Can also include 1811 in TST.Would be great to have restaurants organised by districts as well.I would also include top tourist sites like Stanley Market, key temples, Chi Lin Nunnery, Disneyland, Ocean Park and the like. It would be really neat to also have something to speed up the search function. It takes a very long time to scroll through the master list if it is hundreds of entries and you are trying to get to "L". To help tourists, I would also include tourist spots like Ladies Market, Jade Market, etc. Hotel wise - might want to list it under plural as in "hotels". The current version is missing Holiday Inn Express on Sharp Street in Causeway Bay and the new Crowne Plaza in Causeway in terms of some of larger hotels. Regardless I will be telling all my friends who are coming to visit to purchase it along with all my expat colleagues who just relocated here. Just at least fix the icon asap and update some of the data with the shopping centres for free.

Some bad moments

Contains much less info than the other app, the far cheaper "hong kong taxi" app. What a waste of money.
